2014 Schuylkill Scholastic Drinking Water Awards

The SAN Educaton and Outreach workgroup selected 3 schools as recepients for the 2014 Schuylkill Scholastic Drinking Water Awards, which aims to acknowledge students and schools that are completing projects to protect drinking water sources.  This year, individual award presentations were made to the winning schools. The winning schools include Cook Wissahickon School (Philadelphia), The Montessori School (Dresher), and Robeson Elementary (Robeson Twp.) During the event, the students presented on their SWP projects.  SAN partner organizations, including DEP, EPA, and the PWD, presented at the award ceremonies.

2014 WINNERS:

  • Cooke Wissahickon: Installed a Meadow and is a SAS school
  • The Montessori School: Installed a Rain garden and did a lot of education programs related to it.  Is also a SAS school.
  • Upper Watershed School: Robeson Elementary Center: Naturalized a basin and did a bunch or other green infrastructure work.  Also a SAS school.
