Schuylkill Shot of the Month

Mon Dec 29, 2014

Background

The Schuylkill River is an important source of fresh water to the Delaware Estuary, traveling over 130 miles from springs in Schuylkill County to the Delaware River in Philadelphia. It has been a source of drinking water for over two centuries and currently provides water for more than 1.5 million people. The river was extremely polluted during the Industrial Revolution, but is now clean enough to once again support fish and wildlife. In addition, it serves as a valuable recreation destination for many activities, including rowing, fishing, running, picnicking and just a fun place to spend time outdoors. We need your help to show how awesome the Schuylkill River is!
