Special Opportunity for Philadelphia School District Teachers

AFTER-SCHOOL ENVIRONMENTAL ENRICHMENT TRAINING

Stroud Water Research Center and its partners provide professional development and support to staff members in leading environmental-related after-school enrichment programs (e.g., environmental, sustainability, green school, ECO, etc.).

Program activities and training are based on NOAA’s Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences model, generalized in Pennsylvania for any environmental literacy content, and best practices for safe and engaging outdoor experiences.

The Stroud Center and partners can support up to 10 after-school programs across the Philadelphia School District annually. Up to four staff members at each after-school site may participate in the training program. Staff at each after-school site may also take turns as needed. Read more information about this after-school job opportunity and your principal’s approval from district administration.

Collaborating providers include Let’s Go Outdoors, Riverbend Environmental Education Center, Fairmount Waterworks, Pennsylvania Sea Grant, Land Health Institute, and Pennsylvania Department of Education’s environment and ecology content advisor.
