Schuylkill Highlands Mini Grant Program

This program provides mini-grants up to $15,000.00 to projects in Berks County, and major portions of Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, and to a lesser extent Lancaster and Lebanon Counties, that support the goals and objectives of the Schuylkill Highlands Conservation Landscape. The Schuylkill Highlands Mini-Grant Program is a reimbursement grant program funded by the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and administered by the Schuylkill River Heritage Area and Natural Lands Trust.

Penn State EESL/LIME Student Seed Grant Competition

Not-for Profit Acid Mine Drainage Watershed Cooperative Agreement (WCAP) Programs

The federal Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement is now offering grants for acid mine drainage treatment through the Watershed Cooperative Agreement Program to not-for-profit 501(c)3 entities. WCAP is designed to be partnered with other funding sources to assist groups such as small watershed organizations to complete local AMD reclamation projects. Projects typically involve small to moderate flow discharges from abandoned underground or surface coal mines, using passive treatment technology.

Conservation Reserve Program

The Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) and Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) provide technical and financial assistance to eligible farmers and landowners to address soil, water, wildlife, and related natural resource concerns on their lands in an environmentally beneficial and cost-effective manner. The programs provide assistance in complying with Federal, State, and tribal environmental laws, and encourages environmental enhancement. Both programs are administered by the Farm Service Agency, with NRCS providing technical land eligibility determinations, conservation planning, and technical assistance for practice implementation and maintenance.
