Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) Grants

Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) Grants allow nonprofits, local governments, and other organizations to recruit, train, and place unemployed and under-employed residents of areas affected by the presence of brownfields. Through the EWDJT Program, graduates develop the skills needed to secure full-time, sustainable employment in various aspects of hazardous and solid waste management and within the larger environmental field, including sustainable cleanup and reuse, water quality improvement, chemical safety, and emergency response.

Resource Enhancement & Protection Program (REAP)

Through the Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP) Program, farmers, landowner, and businesses earn tax credits for implementing "Best Management Practices" (BMPs) that will enhance farm production and protect natural resources. Eligible project costs include project design, management, construction, equipment, and post-construction expenses. Eligible applicants receive between 50% to 75% of project cost in the form of State tax credits for up to $250,000 per operation in a 7-year time-frame. PennDOT Multimodal Transportation Fund

The Multimodal Transportation Fund stabilizes funding for ports and rail freight, increases aviation investments, establishes dedicated funding for bivyvle and pedestrian improvements, and allows targeted funding for priority investments in any mode. Eligible projects include trail, bike, and pedestrian safety. Projects should coordinate local land use with transportation assets to enhance existing communities.

PA DEP Environmental Education Grants

Administered through DEP, the funds are used for projects ranging from creative, hands-on lessons for students, teacher training programs, and outdoor learning resources to conservation education for adults. Projects may deliver both formal (K-12) and non-formal education programs targeting any audience, including, but not limited to, youth, teachers, municipal officials, farmers, developers, site designers, businesses, and homeowners or other community residents. Priorities include environmental justice, water, and climate change. There are 3 types of grants: (1) mini grants up to $3,000, (2) Level I General Grants up to $20,000 and (3) Level 2 General Grants up to $85,000. Regional Trails Program

DVRPC's Regional Trails Program provides planning assistance and financial support to trail developers, counties, municipalities and nonprofit organizations to complete the Circuit, Greater Philadelphia's 800-plus-mile network of multi-use trails. Eligible activities include trail planning and feasibility studies, design and engineering, and construction. A detailed interactive map of the Circuit Trails can be found on the DVRPC website.
