NJ Dam Removal Partnership Fish Passage Training

The Nature Conservancy, with funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Delaware Watershed Conservation Fund, is pleased to announce a free, one-day NJ Dam Removal Partnership Fish Passage Training course led by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Location: Trenton, NJ
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service training course will benefit biologists, engineers, hydrologists, environmental scientists, and other practitioners involved in the evaluation and design of fish passage projects. The full-day program will feature technical instruction intermixed with case studies. Topics include dam removal considerations and constraints, site assessment, fish movement and fatigue, fishways, and stream gaging weirs.
Please take this survey by September 13 to apply for this training opportunity. Pre-registrants will be notified by September 20th, if they have been or not been selected for the workshop. Preference will be given to applicants who anticipate working on a dam removal in the Delaware River Basin in the next 18 months. A registration link will be sent out to those accepted for the training in September.
