December 3, 2022 9:00am to December 4, 2022 12:00pm
Sign up here to join French & Pickering's "Tree-mendous" staff and volunteers to assist in the planting of over 200 more trees along the banks of the French Creek at the stunning Thomas P. Bentley Nature Preserve! Many hands make light work and a great impact for a healthy future.
In 2021, more than 40 volunteers helped us to plant over 800 trees at the Thomas P. Bentley Nature Preserve. With most tree plantings, you can expect about an 80% success rate. Ours had a 93% success rate- Go team!
That remaining 7% that did not make it will be replaced this year and the remainder need to be tended to through weeding and tree cage maintenance as well as resettling some trees that have settled too deep into the soil. To weed, the cages need to be lifted and the trees weeded around their bases. To raise the trees that have settled too deeply, they will need to be dug up and replanted.
We welcome you to this family-friendly event to stay as long or as little as you like and plant as many or as few trees as you are able!
Appropriate for 8+.
